Salem Aerospace Cluster Pvt. Ltd.
Salem Aerospace Cluster Pvt. Ltd. (SACPL) is an integrated facility adjoining the Salem Airport with runway access. It is created primarily to support the Defence Forces in the growing requirements of providing in-country product support in line with the ‘Make in India’ policy of Government of India (GOI) under ‘Atmanirbhar Adyan’, to support maintenance, repair, overhaul, servicing, modifications, mid-life upgrades, indigenised manufacture and testing of aircraft and aviation infrastructure for the Defence and Airports and also to innovate, design and manufacture state-of-the-art Aerospace & Aerodrome products.
The Broad Plan of the Group for Tamil Nadu Defence Corridor is to create a ‘Hub and Spoke’ model with Tiruchirappalli as the centre of the Manufacturing Hub which will feed the Aerospace Cluster at Salem. The target markets primarily include Aerospace & Aviation, Defence, Future Technologies and Industrial Manufacturing industries.
The Crown Group has entered into an MoU with the Tamil Nadu Government on 14 December, 2020 to develop the cluster adjacent to Salem Airport.
